Description

URODIAG® is intended for patients already diagnosed with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and offers a less invasive alternative to traditional monitoring through periodic cystoscopies. From a simple urine sample, the laboratory extracts DNA and performs a real-time quantitative PCR to detect:
Mutations in the FGFR3 gene and Methylation levels in the HS3ST2, SEPTIN9, and SLIT2 genes. These genetic markers are directly associated with the presence and possible recurrence of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
-A positive result indicates genetic alterations compatible with active disease.
-A negative result rules out the presence of aggressive bladder tumors with more than 99% accuracy, which may allow spacing out or avoiding unnecessary cystoscopies.
The laboratory issues a detailed report that includes the detected alterations and their clinical interpretation, helping the physician personalize treatment and adjust the surveillance plan.
